When asked to describe soon-to-be Penncrest High School student Nicholas Frigiola as writer, I labeled him a “middle-school Kafka”. Nicholas, who sometimes goes by the nickname “Profe, Jr.”, enjoys playing tennis, reading EC comics like Tales from the Crypt, drawing, watching movies, and, of course, dating the undead… or at least writing about it. Enough chit-chat, though. In the concise spirit of Nicholas’s writing, I’ll shut up and let you get to “Zombie Girlfriend”…

“Zombie Girlfriend”
by Nicholas Frigiola

His mother told him never to go up there. Jim tried many times before to get in the warehouse but always ended up failing. Sometimes he got caught; other times he just got nervous. But this time he got in. For some mysterious reason, the gate in the back opened up by itself, seeming to dare him to enter. He did… and smelled a horrible odor. He could not believe his eyes, either.

In the warehouse, a girl his age was locked in a cage. He ran over to see why she was locked up. She was candy to his eyes… except for the rotting and decaying part. He talked to her but got no reply. Then he tried again and got some mumbles that told a story. She said that her name was Eibmoz. She also explained to him that she was a zombie princess and that the government took her away from her father because he was planning take over the world, doomsday style. So they locked her up. Even though it would lead to the extinction of humanity, Jim decided to unlock her. He was giving her a kiss when all of a sudden her head fell off, landed on his shoulder, and bit him, turning him into a zombie. Later that day, Eibmoz and the new zombie Jim got married.
