Randy
Schenkel is a student at Penncrest High School in Media,
Pennsylvania. One of his stories, "The Fast Kid," was
chosen to represent his middle school in the 2002 Delaware County
Young Authors' Contest. In 2003, Randy did even better; his story
"The Accident" won first place in the same contest.
Randy's "Night of the Living Dead," which appeared
in Issue #1 of The Squid, won second place in the readers'
choice poll. Though rumors persist, he denies all accusations
of tomb robbing.

Cecilia Servatius,
who claims to be a ball point pen living on Mars, is actually
a sixteen-year-old living in New England. A home-schooled "foreign
language geek", she writes plays, acts in them, and directs
them, to the dismay of the theatre going public. Her art, including
work in oils, pastels, and jewelry, is displayed prominently in
the bathrooms of her relations. Cecilia also enjoys sending strange
and wonderful emails at ungodly hours.

Patrick Hellman
Shubert attends Embry-Riddle University. He has
won numerous awards and distinctions, including first prize in
the Mad Poet's Society Contest and first prize in the 1999 Delaware
County Young Authors' Contest, and his poetry was published in
the anthology SHELTER FROM THE STORM. During middle school, he
worked as an editor for the literary magazine SPARTA'S LIBRARY
and in high school served as a staff writer for Penncrest's LION'S
ROAR.

Jessica Silverberg,
the featured author from Issue #1 of The Squid, is an
impressive writer with a gift for tales of the fantastic. Her
writing and artwork have won numerous honors, including first
prize in the 2001 Delaware County Young Authors' Contest and a
place in the 2002 Pennsylvania State Art Exhibit. She currently
attends Penncrest High School in Media, Pennsylvania.

Eleni Solomos
likes cats, cheese, 1970's Cadillacs, books, and films. Greek
jazz, too. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Governor's School for
the Arts, Eleni has received numerous awards, including the 2002
Keystone Short Story Award. She is currently a student at Temple
University, where she's tackling a double major in English and
art.

Justin Stanchfield's
eighth story for Boys' Life, "Looking for Charlie,"

issue of Cricket. He also has upcoming stories in Cicada and the
Usborne
Adventure Anthology. He was recently elected Treasurer of the
Science
Fiction & Fantasy Writers of America, and lives with his wife
and two
children on a Montana cattle ranch.

Kathryn Sutton
attended Edina High School in Edina, Minnesota. Her favorite periodic
element is Tungsten. Her favorite animal is the squirrel, although
she is also quite fond of the bunny rabbit. She loves to read
anything she can gets her hands upon, and has a wide range of
taste, from Vladimir Nabokov to Toni Morrison, J.D. Salinger to
CS Lewis. In her free time, she enjoys listening to her record
collection, watching really good movies, and pretending that she
can play the guitar well. When she grows up, she hopes to be a
writer for a publication such as The Utne Reader or The New Yorker
and later on pursue her life dream: becoming a florist.
